Youth Camp 2024

June 24-28

Students will have the time of their lives creating summer memories at camp. The camp experience is crazy-fun and high energy, packed with team activities, games, and powerful, life-impacting services.

FAQ

Camp registration is $225 and includes lodging, meals, and transportation. A deposit of at least $75 is due with registration to secure your student’s spot. All deposits are transferable and non-refundable. Registration will close May 10th or when spots are filled, whichever comes first.

Camp is at Timberlake Retreat Center in Forsyth, GA. TimberLake Retreat Center is a beautifully wooded 110 acre retreat center located about 3 miles from I-75 between Forsyth and the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge.

The safety of the campers is a top priority. Camp Timberlake is a closed campus and the main entrance gate will be locked at all times. Any visitors will have to have direct approval from camp leadership in order to be allowed onto the campground. Trained adults along with certified water safety teams will be present.

Students stay in gender-specific dorms that have large rooms filled with bunk beds. Guys and girls are not allowed in the same dormitories. Our students may be in bunk rooms with students from other churches. All adult leaders stay in an adjoining room where they have full visibility of the student bunks to ensure proper supervision. All shower stalls have their own curtains. At the end of the night, we have a curfew/lights out to ensure students get a proper night’s rest.

A professional and caring food team prepares three healthy-size meals every day. However, camp meals have limited options. If your student is a picky eater, please plan to pack filling snacks. Students are welcome to bring their own snacks (labeled with the student’s name) that do not require refrigeration.

Students also have access to the “Snack Shack” each evening where students are able to purchase items such as candy, chips, fries, soft drinks, etc.

If your student has any food allergies or dietary needs, please discuss this with your location Youth Pastor ahead of time so we can make proper accommodations.

If your student is bringing medication to camp, you will fill out a medication form (click here if you’d like to fill it out prior to arrival). Please bring medication in its original bottle (prescribed to the student) and in a zip lock bag labeled with their name; include any special instructions along with the medication. If your student has an epi-pen, they may keep it on them but we need to be notified at check-in so the camp can be made aware. A licensed nurse will administer any medication.

Every camp leader and volunteer has completed a comprehensive process that includes:
– Completed and approved volunteer application
– Criminal background check
– Mandatory Youth Camp orientation

In addition to the team competitions, morning devotionals, and evening services, summer camp gives students an opportunity to hangout with friends in a safe environment. When students have access to the campground for free time, there is always adult supervision present. The campground features:
– Gymnasium with 9-square, gaga ball, and basketball
– Lake equipped with paddle boats, water slide, and life vests
– Outdoor swimming pool
– Beautiful property with large open field areas for games, seating areas, and a frisbee golf course

While there are plenty of water activities throughout the week, they are mostly optional. Swimming during free time is separated by gender. Before students are allowed to swim in the pool or lake, they must pass a swimming test and will receive a wristband to identify their completion of the test. There is a trained lifeguard posted at each station during all swimming activities.

Curfew varies each night depending upon the evening service, but it is often around 11:00pm. Shortly after service time, all students and leaders collectively relocate back to their dorms. All students are then asked to get ready for bed and then sit in their bunks for a headcount to ensure all students have returned safely.

Joey Silva will be preaching during the evening services. Services will include opportunities to hear from missionaries and Christian colleges. We have a time of worship before the message and typically there is an optional altar time following the message.
