The holidays are here. They provide so many opportunities for our families, with special worship days and reaching out to others. Certainly, the holidays should heighten our awareness for OTHERS.

In all of our Worship Experience’s last weekend, Pastor Dave shared about how everyone has a chance to participate in our annual Christmas Offering. As we bought gifts for other people this holiday season, we want our largest and most extravagant gift to be for Jesus. In this year’s Christmas Offering, we’re going to use 100% of this offering for others through Outreach and Ministry Impact in the following ways:

  • THE CHINA PROJECT – Chapelhill will help strategically plant churches among unreached people groups in China whom have never heard the Good News about Jesus.  Our Christmas Goal of $60,000 for China will be matched dollar for dollar!
    Our Christmas Goal – $60,000
  • OPERATION CHRISTMAS  – We will provide Christmas gifts for kids locally and serve thousands of kids in need.  We’ll also join with ministry partners to serve children in Haiti.
    Our Christmas Goal – $25,000
  • MISSIONARIES & PROJECTS  – Through your extravagant Christmas Offering we will bless missionaries who are serving Christ around the globe.
    Our Christmas Goal – $110,00
  • ATLANTA CAMPUS BUILDING PURCHASE   – We are asking God to provide a miracle offering to meet this time sensitive need for a down payment as we press forward with Local Ministry Expansion in ATL.
    Our Christmas Goal – $300,000

What does all this mean for us?  In order to complete these three critical initiatives, we must join together in Atlanta, Dunwoody, Bremen & Douglasville to reach this special Christmas Offering goal! Together, we can do this. Some may want to consider this Christmas offering for a special “year end” gift! There couldn’t be anything more important than serving and reaching more people for Jesus by advancing the gospel around the world. Thank you for praying about your participation to help us reach our goal!

The ministry of Chapelhill Church is funded by God’s provision through the tithes and offerings of faithful attenders of Chapelhill Church. The mission of our church is to ensure that we honor God’s provision by exercising wise and faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of the church remains beyond reproach. Our mission is facilitated through our system of internal controls over financial reporting and our internal budgeting and reporting processes. Partners of Chapelhill Church may ask questions about our financial practices at any time by contacting us at info@chapelhill.cc

Gross or Net?

Gross earnings is the amount of God’s provision, and the tithe should be based on one-tenth of God’s provision. Taxes are generally considered payment for the privileges and services provided by the government. Though scripture doesn’t necessarily use the literal terms “net” or “gross,” it is important to note that the spirit in which we give is of greatest value to God. He tells us in II Corinthians 9 that “each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

What if I don’t have enough money to tithe?

The bible tells us to give and that it will be given back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. You can’t out give God, and there is always enough money to tithe as long as it is taken off the top of your income. Tithing is a faith step that God will do more with our 90% than what we could do on our own with 100%.

Spend time in prayer and reading God’s word. He will show you His everlasting truth.

What if my income varies?

Depending on which is more feasible for your situation, you can handle tithing with a fluctuating income in a couple of different ways. Some people choose to give exactly one-tenth of their earnings for each individual pay-period. Others estimate their total earnings for the year and give a portion of the total tithe each week throughout the year.
